Mothers Day Special at Sampa BJJ
We all know that it’s not an easy task to bring your children to the classes every week. From driving them to the academy, watching and empowering them diligently, a mother is always there supporting their kids at each progression of their Jiu-Jitsu journey.
That’s why on Saturday, May 6th we organized a special mother’s day class at the Sampa BJJ Academy in Glendora as well as in our Academy in Walnut.
In this class, Our kids’ mothers join their kids onto the mats for a unique bonding experience with their children. It was really an entertaining way for the kids to celebrate the mother’s day with their moms. This special class was all about building and strengthening the bonds between the kids and moms.
We divided this class into 3 parts. Firstly, we started with moms and kids fitness workout at 8:00 am, and after that at 10:00 am we did our moms and kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Then, at last, we had moms and kids doing our kickboxing class at 11:00 am.
At the end of the classes, we awarded pink belts to the moms. Kids got, very proud of their mom for receiving their Pink belts (it is a fake belt to celebrate the occasion). It was also a great opportunity for the moms to understand that Jiu-Jitsu is not an easy sport and once experiencing the classes they will somehow understand the complexity and respect their kids a little bit more.
We truly had an amazing time training with kids’ moms in this special 2017 Mother’s Day class.
On the same day, we had our Sampa Summer Camp Open House, where parents came to enroll their children and get the $40 discount on their kid’s enrollment.
It was a great opportunity for kids as well as their parents to know more about our kids summer camp program. We answered many questions asked by parents. The kids went home with their summer camp package and undersood how we would conduct the summer program this year. We got many enrollments.
This year, we are conducting the summer camp a little different. We will be focusing on intensive training in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and wrestling and the development of mental toughness and hard work.
We are offering two options this year – one is full day summer camp and other is half day summer camp.
We will mainly focus on wrestling in the first part of the day, and make kids practice wrestling so as to get the kids ready for the upcoming wrestling season.
In the full day camp, we will also give Jiu-Jitsu and judo training in addition to wrestling. We are also offering field trips in this full day camp taking the kids to the pool in San Dimas every Friday, every Wednesday to either discovery cube, Rockin’ Jump, Laser Island – Laser tag etc.
We are very happy to see the progression of our summer camp and it’s really great to see how many people we are converting to the summer camp even though we are not offering a babysitting style summer camp.
We will keep you updated on what is going on in our summer camp such as the kids’ activities and their development in wrestling, judo and BJJ.
