We are now excited to feature Flowing Arts Academy/Austria
The Flowing Arts Academy in Klagenfurt/Austria is the home of two clubs. Prof. Martin Guggi is running the Sampa Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Program. Coach Andre Walberer is the head coach of the Hammers Mixed Martial Arts Team in Austria.
The Flowing Arts Academy is offering classes for kids and adults. 3 times per week the kids can improve their body movements, discipline, self-confidence with the practice of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu techniques. The coaches spent a lot of time working on the behavior of their students. Basic words as “Yes Sir, No Sir, Yes Mam, No Mam, please, thank you, I am sorry” need to be known from their students to get their first white belt around their waist. Kids from 4 years old train once per week and kids from 8 years on twice per week. For more information about the schedule please their website www.flowingarts.com
All students start with their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey with their white belt – and need to achieve the yellow, orange, green, blue, purple and brown belt before they get the black belt. Kids under 16 years old have different belts than adults.
Coach Wolfgang Michor is a professional physio therapist who is also running the judo program as part of the Sampa BJJ club. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has it roots in the Art of Judo. That’s why students have the possibility to learn how to fall, throw and break the balance of a partner on the mats. Next to Coach Wolfgang we have a lot of great coaches running the classes together with Prof. Martin Guggi. The Team is constantly trying to improve the quality of the classes to limit the learning time of the students.
The second club in the Flowing Arts Academy is focused on Mixed Martial Arts. The Art of Boxing, Wrestling, Grappling and Clinching are combined in MMA. Students learn the basics first before they can develop to the intermediate classes.
The Sampa BJJ club is part of the International BJJ Association run by Prof. Renato Migliaccio.
Prof. Martin Guggi learned from Prof. Renato in California/Glendora and helped to grow his team in the USA. After returning to Austria he opened his own Sampabjj school in Klagenfurt. But their relationship continues up to this date.
Prof. Renato and Prof. Martin are running international BJJ Camps together. These “BJJ intensive Camps” bring a lot of black belts together to improve their BJJ but also to teach high level BJJ to anybody who wants to improve. 4-6 camps per year in Europe help students without a professor to come together at a beautiful location and train the arts of BJJ together with Judo, Wrestling, Self Defense and Fitness.
They also try to help people to grow their own schools offering Instructor Courses, Sales Courses, Marketing Courses or Courses on how to develop kids’ classes. The next camp is going to be in Austria/Cap Wörth next to a beautiful lake. Next to 3 classes going on at the same time – for beginners, advanced and nogi students they offer a Blue Belt Curriculum.
