Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Ensures Active Children
Does your child suffer from bullying at school?
Are you scared to leave your child back home, all alone, fearing an attack?
Does your child get tired easily due to a low stamina?
Is you child unable to concentrate the activity at hand for a longer duration?
Are you concerned of your child’s growing fat?
As a parent, if you answered yes to any one on the above mentioned questions, then it is high time you enrolled your child into a martial arts course. Martial arts teach children the techniques of self-defense and combat when they are confronted by bullies or other people who are larger, mightier and powerful than your child is. Martial arts also instill certain personality traits which would help the child throughout his/her life.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a non-violent technique of self-combat that silences the opponents without causing them any physical harm, pain or injury. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is very much similar to karate, kun-fu or kick-boxing albeit small differences. While karate, kun-fu, lick-boxing and other martial art forms are a combination of kick and punch techniques, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu relies more on ground techniques with a combination of grappling and clasping methods that help to overcome/defeat the enemy.
In addition to self defense techniques, children are exposed to a rigorous exercise regimen as part of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. The exercise regimen is a combination of various kinds of exercises such as stretching, cardiovascular, resistance and breathing. These exercises help to tone muscles and improve the stamina of children.
Since the training requires a great deal of dedication and determination, children who participate in training sessions will develop discipline that would help them attend sessions regularly and continue learning the art form. Also, the Jiu Jitsu moves practiced, inculcate in children, the qualities of self-control and resistance.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu also alters food habits and helps children to stay alert, fit and active. Practicing and training for Jiu Jitsu on a regular basis will help children to burn all the extra calories and stay away from obesity. Children also derive health benefits by being a part of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. The training involves a lot of exercises that will make children flexible, stronger and improve their body’s endurance levels. Each and every session of Jiu Jitsu is a combination of stretching exercises, breathing exercises, cardiovascular fitness techniques and resistance exercises. Though the sessions sap children completely of their energy, the health benefits that they provide are worth the physical exhaustion.
Brazilian Jui Jitsu has not only gained significance as a self-defense art form but also as a technique that improves health and endurance of children over the long run. Children who undergo Jiu Jitsu training are more social, approachable and mix well with strangers. Also, they are confident and happy apart from being able to concentrate better and score good grades at school. Jiu Jitsu has also become a popular form of sport among school children.
Of late, keeping in mind the future of young children, certain schools have made Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a mandatory part of their course curriculum. It would not be too long before others, across the globe, follow suit.
