Brazilian jiu jitsu was evolved in Brazil by the Gracie family, it originally came from Japan. It was Count Koma the famous jiu-jitsu master and a successful businessman who brought this form of martial arts to Brazil in the year 1914. He received good support and help from a politician named Gastao Gracie, son of George Gracie who himself had migrated to Brazil from Scotland. As a gesture of gratitude for the help received, the jiu-jitsu master taught this form of martial arts to Gastao’s son who was Carlos Gracie. After mastering the technique himself, Carlos taught it to all his brothers.
